About โAttiq Hebrewโ
This edition uses Attiq Hebrew as its editorial name for the ancient Hebrew script conventionally called Paleo-Hebrew in modern scholarship.
โAttiq Hebrewโ is the Hebrew way to say Ancient Hebrew. In the Holy Scriptures, YAH called our language โThe Language of Canaan.โ (YeshaYAHu 19:18)
The chart identifies historically associated letter names and images where reasonably established. Where an association is uncertain or disputed, it is explicitly identified as such. Do not present speculative modern โpictographic meaningsโ as established translations of Hebrew letters.
Final Forms in Modern Hebrew
Modern square Hebrew uses special forms for Kaf, Mem, Nun, Pe, and Tsade when they occur at the end of a word. The Attiq script shown in this edition uses the corresponding basic ancient letter form.
